Richard is the managing partner of MZS Lawyers and personally handles all of the firm's adult guardianship applications. He is an experienced civil litigator whose practice includes Estate Disputes, Adult Guardianship Applications, Personal Injury, and Real Estate Disputes. He has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, Human Rights Tribunal, and Small Claims Court on a range of matters.

Adult Guardianship Applications

Richard acts for family members applying to become guardian of property or guardian of the person under Ontario's Substitute Decisions Act, 1992. He coordinates the capacity assessment, prepares the management and guardianship plans, deals with the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee, and appears in court, including on contested applications and passings of accounts. Before entering the practice of law, Richard worked for the Senate of Canada. He was also a human rights advocate in Washington DC for a number of years, and served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Canada Tibet Committee.
